UP Minorities Commission seeks report on harassment of Muslims by a police inspector

Lucknow: Taking strong note of complaints by muslims against a police inspector, received during tour of Shahajahanpur district on June 13, the chairman of State Minorities Commission (SMC) SMA Kazmi has seeked report from district administration of Shahjahanpur. The commission has also directed that any senior official should present himself before the commission on June 29 with complete report regarding the complain.

AMU students selected for research study at US varsity

Aligarh: Ms. Amena Arif (M. Sc. Biochemistry) and Mr. Asim Rizvi (M. Sc. Biotechnology) of the Aligarh Muslim University have been selected to carry out research at one of the top US Universities, University of Wisconsin (UW), Madison under the Khorana Exchange Programme. AMU Alumni Association of Arizona Chapter will provide financial assistance to the students.

Bengaluru blast: Non-bailable arrest warrant against Ma’dani

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru court yesterday ordered a non-bailable arrest warrant against PDP chairman Abdunnasir Ma'dani in the Bengaluru blast case. Meanwhile two members of the PDP tried to commit suicide at Anvarsseri in Kollam following news that Ma'dani would be arrested soon. PDP members have reportedly begun infinite fasting in front of the Anvarsseri Yatheemkhana patronized by Ma'dani.

Pune blast probe went wrong: Maharashtra DGP admits

Pune: Hours after German Bakery blast 'prime suspect' Abdul Samad Bhatkal granted bail by a Mumbai Sessions Court yesterday, the Maharashtra Director General of Police D Sivanandan has admitted that investigations by the state ATS into the February 13, 2010 Pune bakery blast have gone wrong.

The Mumbai court granted bail to Samad, who was arrested on May 24, 2010 at Mangalore airport in connection with a 2009 arms seizure case and alleged to be involved in the Pune blast case. The court said there was no evidence against him.

Court rejects army's plea to hand over Machil gunfight accused

Srinagar : A court in Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday rejected the Indian Army's plea to hand over the four men arrested in the allegedly staged Machil gunfight case for recording their statements for its own court of enquiry into the incident.

Dismissing the army's plea after police in north Kashmir's Sopore town stated that handing over the accused would hamper their investigations, Chief Judical Magistrate (CJM) Kousar Ahmad Qureshi instead remanded the four men to further police custody.

Interim bail plea of Gujarat cop rejected

Gandhinagar : An interim bail plea of Abhay Chudasama, former deputy commissioner of Ahmedabad police, was rejected Tuesday by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court.

He was arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh staged shooting case in April and had sought 10 weeks' interim bail for hip replacement surgery at a private hospital.

Special CBI Judge G.K. Upadhayay ruled that the purpose of law would be better served if he is operated upon at the government civil hospital.

Warrant for Maudany's court appearance June 23

Bangalore : A Bangalore court here Tuesday directed Karnataka Police to produce Kerala-based People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Maudany before it by June 23 in connection with the 2008 serial bomb blasts here.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Venkatesh Gurigi issued a non-bailable warrant against Maudany, who is one of the 32 charged for the July 25, 2008 blasts that killed a woman and injured over 20.

Gurigi said the PDP leader should be produced before him on or before June 23.

And the CBI says that the Ajmer and Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blasts are linked, done by the same forces. So what about all the news stories published in the media about the so-called Islamic terrorists like the HuJI behind those bomb blasts? What about all the articles published by the media based on the revelations of 'intelligence officers' and 'official sources'?
