No improvement in dengue in Jamia Nagar, MCD still inactive

New Delhi: There has not been any improvement as far as dengue cases in Jamia Nagar are concerned. All the hospitals and private nursing homes in and around the Muslim dominated area are reportedly 'full'. On top of that, the continued passivity of
the government of Delhi has led to anger and anguish among the residents of the area.

Reportedly MCD has not come into action yet. Jamia Nagar residents have complained about complete absence of spraying of insecticides in the mosquito-breeding place.

Malicious survey on Muslim youths: NHRC issues notice to Delhi

New Delhi: National Human Rights Commission has asked the Delhi Government to take action against the malicious MRDA survey on Muslim youths in the country. The rights watchdog issued relevant instruction to Chief Secretary of Delhi Government acting on a complaint from eminent journalist Wadood Sajid.

Sajid had complained that survey company MDRA was conducting a survey on Muslim youths with 20 objectionable and communal questions. Informed by Sajid, TCN was the first media to break the news about the malicious survey in June 2010.

BJP lifts now ANHAD’s photo for its “Kashmir Bachao Divas” ad

New Delhi: BJP did it again. Guess what? It is another instance of blatant misuse of photo of a secular organization by the party for the propagation of its communal ideology. This time, it used ANHAD's photo without its permission in its "Kashmir Bachao Divas" ad.

The BJP lifted illegally a photograph of an ANHAD demonstration on Kashmir issue,held on July 8, 2010 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, and misused it in its advertisement on "Kashmir Bachao Divas" in the Indian Express on August 20, 2010 and Navbharat Times on August 21, 2010.

BJP wants to shed communal image, eyes Christian votes in Goa

Panaji : In a bid to shed its communal image and boost its minority vote base, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders will interact with Christian religious leaders, including the archbishop of Goa, the party announced Sunday.

Addressing a press conference, BJP national secretary and in charge of Goa Arti Mehra, said: "The party feels there is a concious need to reach out to the Christian community in the state and increase its minority vote base by at least five percent."

Yet another day of shutdowns, restrictions in Kashmir

Srinagar : Curfew continued in summer capital Srinagar, south Kashmir Bijbehara and north Kashmir Trehgam towns Sunday amid another shutdown called by separatists in the valley. Authorities are likely to lift restrictions from many places.

"Curfew is continuing in nine police station areas in Srinagar city, Bijbehara and Trehgam towns while restrictions are in place in Baramulla, Pulwama and Anantnag towns," a police officer said here.
