Whenever elections come the family of Shahi Imams of Delhi's Jama Masjid comes up and announces its support to party A or party B or sometimes to an alliance. Many times their decision affects few, sometimes it surprises many.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), Government of India has envisaged d to undertake a landmark e-governance project to computerize wakf records. Wakf Management System of India (WAMSI) is a three-year project beginning from 2009. In its ambit, it has onus to computerize records of 29 State Wakf Boards (SWBs) as mentioned in Wakf Act, 1995 and Jammu & Kashmir Wakf Board.

New Delhi: In a serious and historic effort to provide standard education opportunities to Muslim children and improve the standard of Muslim schools, the community leaders have unanimously decided to form a board on the patterns of CBSE and ICSE. The board will be recognized by the Government of India.

Kollam: A team of the Karnataka police today arrived in Kerala reportedly to accelerate the procedures for arresting PDP leader Abdunnasir Ma'dani, 31st accused in the Bengaluru blast case. Ma'dani was denied anticipatory bail by the Karnataka High Court last day in the case and there is a non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him.

New Delhi: In uncommon continued protest by mainland Muslim groups against civilian killings in Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind today strongly condemned atrocities of security forces against stone-pelting protestors and demanded their withdrawal from civilian areas in the Valley.

While expressing serious concern at the present situation in Kashmir, JIH held the wrong policies of state and central governments for it.
