Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Chapter of the Federation of Muslim Educational Institutions in India (FEMEII) was formed in a meeting of various educational institutions held in Chennai on May 29th. The meeting was presided over by Mr. A. Shabbir Ahmed, President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Tamil Nadu Zone. Mr. N. Jan Mohammed, Secretary, JIH, welcomed the gathering consisting of members of the Managements and faculties of various educational institutions in Tamil Nadu.

Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali forgives his attackers

Lucknow: In a significant move, as per Islamic tenents, Naib Imam, Aishbagh Eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali on Saturday forgave the miscreants who were involved in a murderous attack on him on May 17, 2010.

Maulana Khalid stated that Allah also forgives the sins of humans and prefers those who forgive their foes. Even prophet Mohammad (pbuh) forgave his enemies. "Such teachings are evident in Quran and Hadith," he said.

"School Chalo" program spreads the message of education

Bangalore: Popular Front of India organized "School Chalo" program on May 30th to spread the message of education. This program was held in Tank Garden area of Bangalore.



More than 250 students who participated in this program. Majority of students were from the Govt School and from an economically challenged background. The students walked around the area with the slogans on the cards to spread the message of education.

Four of a family murdered in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a gruesome incident here, four members of a family were murdered by their son-in-law and his relatives early Sunday, police said.

Six assailants hacked to death four people in a house at Premnagar in Amberpet neighbourhood. Another person sustained serious injuries and is battling for life in hospital, police said.

Qamruddin, his wife Sajida Begum and two other family members Abdullah Begani and Abdullah Kirmani were killed in the attack. Qamruddin's daughter Afreen, wife of the main accused, is in critical condition.

Angry villagers pelt stones at Mehbooba Mufti's cavalcade

Srinagar : Angry villagers pelted stones and shouted anti-India slogans Sunday when opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti visited Jammu and Kashmir's Nadihal village to condole the deaths of three locals who were killed in a staged shootout in Machil sector along the Line of Control (LOC).

According to police here, the villagers pelted stones at the cavalcade of Mehbooba Mufti in the village in Baramulla district in the afternoon. "She has returned back safely now," a senior police officer said.

Gujarat governor seeks report on inflammatory posters

Gandhinagar : Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal has asked for a report from the state government on the controversial hoardings aimed at inciting communal passions which have appeared in various cities of the state.

The governor, in a letter to the state home ministry and the director general of police, has sought a report on the subject at the earliest, sources said. The letter comes soon after parts of Ahmedabad witnessed an intense bout of communal rioting which left one person dead and more than 25 injured.

Ten injured in Kashmir clashes over civilian killings

Srinagar/New Delhi : Ten people, including three policemen, were injured in clashes between protestors and police in north Kashmir's Nadihal village where three civilians killed in an alleged staged shootout were buried Saturday. An Indian Army major and four others, including a Territorial Army soldier, have been booked for the killings.

"Protesters came out pelting stones on the deployed police and blocked the highway in Nadihal village of north Kashmir's Sopore district," a senior police officer said here.

Baby reunited with family after train tragedy

Jhargram (West Bengal) : A two-year-old boy, Shaukat, who lost his father in the Gyaneshwari Express tragedy and whose mother is in hospital with severe injuries, was reunited with his grandfather and uncle Saturday, thanks to TV coverage by local channels.

The child was lying alone in Midnapore Medical College Hospital with minor injuries under the supervision of the nurses till his grandfather and uncle came to take him home.
