Foreign ministry holding back 11000 haj seats: UP Hajj Committee Posted: 24 Aug 2010 09:18 AM PDT By TwoCircles.net staff reporter Lucknow: Senior cabinet minister and Chairman, State Haj Committee (SHC) Naseemuddin Siddiqui on Tuesday blamed the foreign ministry for with-holding 11000 haj seats. "They have kept 11000 seats and allotting them to VIPs and others. This quota should be immediately released to various state's haj committee for general muslims," said Siddiqui who was re-elected as Chairman of UP's state Haj Committee on Tuesday at Lucknow. |

Bhardwaj's displeasure over it. The state legislature passed the bill to ban cattle slaughter amidst opposition from political parties, various Dalit organizations and noted writers who said the measure was against certain sections of the society and their eating habits. |

Counsel Ali Akbar said the statement of Karnataka Home Minister V.S. Acharya was baseless and the minister "is trying to make political capital through such statements". |

Trial begins in Babri Masjid demolition case Posted: 23 Aug 2010 10:40 PM PDT By TCN Staff Reporter, Lucknow: The trial in the criminal case of Babri Masjid demolition began with the recording of statement of the then SHO Priyamvada Nath Shukla on Monday by Special Judge (Ayodhya Issue) in Lucknow. Shukla, who was the SHO, on December 6, 1992 had lodged the FIR regarding the demolition of the mosque at Ram Janam Bhoomi police station in Ayodhya. The court has framed the charges in crime number 197/92 u/s 153A, 153B, 295, 332, 395 and 120B of Indian Penal Code. |
