A resident of Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) has been wounded as the protestors pelted stones on the bus at Pattan. Angry mob crashed window panes of the 'Caravan-e-Aman' bus that carried passengers from Srinagar, travelling across the Line of Control (LoC) to Aman Setu in Baramulla. |

Lucknow's Chota Imambara feeds poor in Ramadan Posted: 12 Aug 2010 09:11 AM PDT By TCN Staff Reporter Lucknow: As the dawn of the first day of the holy month of Ramazan descended on Thursday, sixty-five year old Nawabu rushed from his ancestral home at Wazirbagh to reach Chota Imambarah as early as possible. On reaching the Imambara premises Nawabu along with a dozen of his colleagues began preparing tandori roti and aloo ki sabzi meant for the poor and needy section fo the society. The process will follow throughout the month, serving more than 500 people per day. |

"The new moon of Ramzan was sighted on Wednesday evening. "The fund has been allocated for the purpose of upgradation of laboratories, construction of new buildings, extension of old buildings, expansion of hostels and dinning facilities, availability of high speed internet servers and 2G and 3G network services," said Simi Malhotra, media coordinator of the university. |

'Pampore march' thwarted, Curfew, restrictions continue in Kashmir Posted: 11 Aug 2010 11:14 AM PDT By Sheikh Imran Bashir, Agence India Press Srinagar: Thousands of police and paramilitary soldiers patrolled mostly empty streets and enforced a strict curfew on Wednesday in most parts of Kashmir. Security forces laid razor wire and steel barricades in Srinagar to foil the march of Pampore, which was scheduled today. All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani called for a march to Pampore to commemorate the second anniversary of the death of pro-freedom leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who was killed by police in 2008. |
