Achuthanandan Sunday told a group of Muslim leaders that his government has nothing to do with the impending arrest of People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Abdul Nazir Maudany, an accused in the 2008 Bangalore bombings. "Let Maudany get arrested. He should come before the law," Achuthanandan told around a dozen leaders from four Muslim groups who met him Sunday morning. |

In his Independence Day address here, Modi said the Gujarat policemen had maintained peace in the state while terrorism and Maoism had laid siege to the nation. A large police force is camping in the area. Higher police officers in the state have reached Kollam. Meanwhile, in a move contrary to his earlier announcement, Maudany approached the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail.
