Secondary education: Muslims ahead of STs, behind SCs, OBCs Posted: 18 Aug 2010 03:33 AM PDT By TCN News, New Delhi: Muslims enrolled at secondary level of education from among those in education system is 10.2% which is higher than 9.8% for Scheduled Tribes. The enrollment at the same level for Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes is 11.3% and 12.5% respectively. The information was given in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha by Salman Khurshid, Minister of Minority Affairs. He based this information on the report of 64th Round (2007-08) of National Sample Survey (NSS). |

According to Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal, four people were injured in the Monday evening clash between members of two communities after some unidentified people set ablaze a vehicle belonging to a Kanwariya group camping in Fareedpur area on the outskirts of the city, about 250 km from Lucknow. The condition of the one of them was serious, he added. |

I was carrying my back-pack and was stopped at the entrance of the mosque. Security man searched my bag and asked me to keep the bag in a room which is specially maintained to keep the baggage of the Musallis, who come to the mosque to offer namaz. |

"I have been given to understand that some telecom corporations have maintained that the records of calls for that period have been destroyed," Karat said in a letter to Communications Minister A. Raja. Karat alleged that records of phone calls, including those made by slain Congress ex-MP Ehsan Jafri were destroyed. |

Shah, a former minister of state for home, was arrested July 25. He filed the bail plea soon after being sent behind bars by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court. The hearing was earlier scheduled for Aug 11 but was deferred till Tuesday because his lawyer Ram Jethmalani could not make it to the court. |
