CBI seeks enhanced security for Gujarat cop in jail Posted: 23 Aug 2010 09:00 AM PDT By IANS, Ahmedabad : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday sought enhanced security in jail for former deputy superintendent of police N.K. Amin whose plea for turning approver in the Sohrabuddin-Kausarbi murder case is awaiting court orders. The petition was filed by the premier investigating agency before the special CBI court in the wake of an attempted contract killing conspiracy on the life of Amin which came to light recently. |

The SIT, headed by former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director R.K. Raghavan, is probing key cases related to the 2002 post-Godhra communal riots in the state. |

Police officials in Malerkotla, 130 km from here, said that both the teachers, Abdul Gaffar and Mohammad Arif, were admitted to local government hospital after the attack. The death toll in the unrest that began here June 11 has risen to 63 with the passing away of Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, 22. He had been shot in Singhpora village near Pattan town of Baramulla district Aug 14 during clashes between stone pelting mobs and the security forces. |

The information was provided to the media by ZFI president Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood. ZFI had conducted ability test in most of states in the country to select candidates for civil services coaching. The Delhi-based group had selected 34 candidates. |
