British PM rules out mediation on Kashmir Posted: 28 Jul 2010 10:32 AM PDT By IANS, New Delhi: A day before he holds talks here, British Prime Minister David Cameron Wednesday ruled out any bid by Britain to mediate on the Kashmir dispute and stressed that it was for India and Pakistan to settle the issue. "I don't think Britain is a great place to mediate on this issue," the 43-year-old Cameron, who is on a two-day visit to India, told Prannoy Roy in an interview on NDTV. |

A three-member CBI team led by Superintendent Amitabh Thakur began questioning Shah at the Sabarmati jail in the morning but is said to have encountered a recalcitrant Shah, who was Gujarat's minister of state for home. |

Separatist Hurriyat group leader Syed Ali Geelani has asked people to protest alleged human rights violations by the security forces in Kashmir. "Areas in the old city and some parts of uptown Srinagar have been placed under restrictions to prevent violence by anti-social elements. Restrictions have also been imposed in Baramulla and Sopore towns in north Kashmir," a senior police officer said here. |

Perhaps it was the first such institution in India. All other institutions using distance learning system like IGNOU were established later on. As it imparts Urdu education, it will be appropriate to throw some light on status of Urdu in India and the desirability of its education. |
