Gujarat minister to appear before CBI Friday Posted: 22 Jul 2010 08:15 AM PDT By IANS, Gandhinagar: Gujarat's Minister of State for Home Amit Shah, summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a fake shoot-out, failed to turn up before the agency Thursday but said he would do so Friday. In statement issued Thursday evening, Shah said that he was out on personal work and by the time he came to know of the summons, he could not possibly have reached the CBI office here at 1 p.m. "I am not on the run and I will go to the CBI to answer all its questions," he added. |

Responding to queries about Gujarat's Minister of State for Home Amit Shah having been summoned by CBI over the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a staged shoot-out in Ahmedabad, BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the minister's name was not there in two inquiries conducted in the case. |

CBI summons Gujarat home minister in Sohrabuddin case Posted: 22 Jul 2010 12:39 AM PDT By IANS, Gandhinagar : Gujarat's Minister of State for Home Amit Shah Thursday failed to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which had summoned him in connection with the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a fake shootout in Ahmedabad. The investigating agency later served a second notice on him directing him to appear before it at 1 p.m. Friday. Earlier, state government's official spokesperson and Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas said that the process of law would be complied with, signalling that Shah would appear before the CBI Thursday. |
