Jama Masjid bomb hoax caller arrested Posted: 02 Jul 2010 09:28 AM PDT By IANS, New Delhi : A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday for making a hoax call to police claiming bombs had been placed in the historic Jama Masjid here. Vishal was arrested from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said. "He called the police control room today at 8.57 p.m. claiming a bomb was planted in Jama Masjid and it will explode by 11. The call created a panic like situation but we concluded it a hoax," the official said. Vishal, a post-graudate in Sanskrit, later told his interrogators that he made the call because he wanted to enjoy some fun. |

This intranet file tracking software, developed by the FTK-Centre for Information Technology (FTK-CIT) of the university, will enable authorised users to monitor the movement and tracking of their respective files or papers within the university. |

There were fewer street protests but the authorities extended the curfew in this summer capital and other towns in the Valley in an attempt to stall a threatened march here by the separatists. Over 16,000 pilgrims started the climb to the south Kashmir shrine dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, a police officer said here. |

Shops, banks, educational institutions and government offices remained closed while traffic remained off the roads in all the districts across the Valley. With the situation remaining tense in most areas of the Kashmir Valley, authorities today gave no relaxation in curfew in Sopore, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bijbehara and Islamabad, and tightened security in Srinagar ahead of a proposed women's protest march. |

Haneef's lawyers said they lodged the suit against former immigration minister Kevin Andrews in the Supreme Court in Brisbane Thursday, Australian news agency AAP reported. A claim has also been made for unlawful arrest and abuse of power against the government, the report said. |
