Advani Tuesday alleged that India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru was "fully responsible" for the difficult situation in Kashmir. Speaking at a function organised to mark the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJP's parent party) founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Advani said that if Nehru could have accepted the views of Mukherjee "then the crown of Himalayas may not have been disturbed". |

Antony Tuesday said the fresh wave of violence in Kashmir was a matter of concern. "The situation in Kashmir is not grim but it is a matter of concern. Even if one incident takes place, it has fallout in the form of violence, unfortunately," Antony told reporters here on the margins of a defence event. Asserting that violence in the Kashmir Valley had come down compared to the past, Antony said the number of tourists to Kashmir and Ladakh had more than doubled this year. |

He categorically denied any connection with the Feb 13 terror attack in Pune's German Bakery, situated in the upmarket Koregaon Park area, in which 17 people were killed. |

The body of the victim, identified only as Abdullah, was found on the ground floor of the Darul-uloom-Habiburza seminary in Alawal town, some 150 km from here. "Abdullah's body bears multiple injuries that have been afflicted by a sharp-edged weapon," police inspector Akhilanand Upadhyay told reporters in Gonda. |

India's friendly Central Asian country Kyrgyzstan was rocked in mid June with the violence by Kyrgyz people who attacked on Uzbeks in its Southern part, burned down their homes and destroyed their shops and businesses. The incident killed hundreds of people and left thousands in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. |

Fancy was hit by a bullet in the chest in Batamaloo area in the west of the city, a police officer said. She was taken to a hospital where doctors declared her dead. This is the second killing allegedly by security forces since morning in the area. |

"Experts of the AERB's safety division would soon visit the campus to survey and screen all the radioactive sources that are stored in the university or being used for treatment and research purposes," AMU spokesman Rahat Abrar told reporters. |
