Who forced Minority Commission to dissolve its enquiry panel on Batla? The committee was to submit report within a month. The report is still elusive, and will remain so forever because the committee was dissolved soon after it was formed, and silently. Who forced the commission to do it? No one knows. |

Only one woman on AI Express survived Posted: 22 May 2010 06:36 AM PDT By IANS, Mangalore : Sabrina Nasrinhuq is the only woman of the 31 women on board the crashed Air India Express plane to escape alive. Sabrina managed to escape through an opening in the Boeing 737 from Dubai as it overshot the Mangalore runway and plunged about 300 metres down a cliff, killing 159 people. She suffered minor injuries. She and six male passengers managed to escape from the plane. The other survivors are: Putturismail Abdulla, Joel Pratap D'Souza, G.K. Pradeep, Krishnan Koolikkunnu, Mayankutty K.P., Ummer Farook Mohammed. |

The bomb blasts were executed in three trains in Tamil Nadu and Kerala 7 around the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary in 1997, killing 10 people and injuring 70 others. |

Soon after the aircraft touched the runway, I heard a sound and smoke started comming in the plane. Soon there was fire and all hell broke loose," said Ummar Farooq, one of the survivors of the Air India Express flight from Dubai which caught fire as it overshot the runway and fell into a gorge Saturday morning. There were 160 passengers and six crew on the IX 812, according to an Air India spokesperson. |

Another family from Dubai was on its way to a wedding when it perished in the tragedy. Saudi Arabia-based businessman Sameer Sheikh lost 16 relatives, including his wife and two children, in the Air India Express tragedy that claimed 158 lives. All 16 were travelling to Mangalore to attend the last rites of Sheikh's grandmother who had died Friday. |

Air India aircraft from Dubai crashed in Mangalore, 160 killed Posted: 21 May 2010 09:25 PM PDT By TwoCircles.net Staff Correspondent, Mangalore: At least 160 people are feared dead this morning after an Air India Express aircraft from Dubai, carrying 173 passengers, crash-landed near Mangalore airport in Karnataka. At least 6-8 people have been rescued. They are in critical condition. Soon after the crash, the aircraft was engulfed in fire. |
