Gujarat cop held for Prajapati killing in fake gun battle

Gandhinagar: A Gujarat police inspector was arrested Thursday for his role in the killing of Tulsi Prajapati in an alleged fake gun battle. He is the fifth policeman to be arrested in the case.

Inspector Ashish Pandya was arrested when he reported at the anti-corruption bureau office in Rajkot.

Prajapati was allegedly killed near Ambaji on the Gujarat-Rajasthan border in December 2006.

The state criminal investigation department has intensified its investigation into the case which is believed to be connected with the Sohrabuddin fake gunfight case.

Lucknow: State minority welfare department on Thurssday appointed the District Minority Welfare Officer (DMWO) as ex-officio Madarsa education officer in their respective districts. New Delhi: Following the CBI's conclusions that radical Hindu groups carried out the 2007 bomb attacks on Muslim holy places in Hyderabad, Indian Muslim Council-USA has demanded immediate financial reparations to the innocent Muslims falsely arrested in the case.

New Delhi : The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Thursday accused the central government of "lack of clarity and firmness" in dealing with "Hindutva terror" targeting Muslims.

"The UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government has shown lack of clarity and firmness in dealing with Hindutva terror," the CPI-M said in a statement.

"Hopefully, the latest revelations regarding the Ajmer and Hyderabad blasts will end this pusillanimous approach," it said.

Kozhikode: The Chief Minister of Kerala has decided to convene an all-party meeting to solve the problems related to the Kinalur road issue.

Representatives of different political parties in Kozhikode district would attend the meeting to be held in Thiruvananthapuram. The date of meeting will be fixed later. The decision to convene a meeting came up in the Cabinet meeting yesterday, in which the ministers discussed about the Kinalur issue for about an hour.
