They have also demanded criminal action against erring probe officers for misguiding the investigation, under pressure from the then state BJP government, despite clear indications of involvement of Hindutva terror. |
IPS officer sent to judicial custody in Sohrabuddin case Posted: 05 May 2010 10:16 AM PDT By IANS, Gandhinagar: Deputy commissioner of the Ahmedabad crime branch Abhay Chudasama, accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake shootout case, was Wednesday sent to judicial custody after the CBI demand for additional seven days' remand was turned down. Chudasama, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, was presented before the court on the completion of his seven days' remand with a request for a further equal extension to probe certain important aspects of the investigations into the Sohrabuddin case. |

Salman Ahmad was not a minor, rules court Posted: 05 May 2010 08:07 AM PDT By IANS, New Delhi: A city court Wednesday ruled that Salman Ahmad,a Delhi serial bombings accused, was not a minor at the time of the serial bombings in the capital Sep 13, 2008. The court dismissed Ahmad's plea for a trial before the Juvenile Justice Board on the ground that he was a minor at the time of the terror attack. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja rejected Ahmad's application, saying that after examining the evidence and witnesses it was clear that he is not a minor at the time of the blasts. |

Vice Chancellor Prof P.K. Abdul Azis said that the deck is now cleared for the two centres. AMU received the approval yesterday from the office of President of India Pratibha Patil under Section 12 (2) of the University Act. |

Posted: 05 May 2010 03:46 AM PDT By IANS, Patna : The mother of a Mumbai terror attack victim has filed a complaint in a Bihar court against two villagers for allegedly cheating her of the compensation paid to her. Sajida Khatoon's 35-year-old son Mohammad Mukhtar was killed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai in the November 2008 attack. Mukhtar was one of the nine people from Bihar killed in the mayhem. Khatoon, a resident of Kakrar village in Sheikpura district, said in her complaint filed Tuesday that she was entitled to get Rs.16 lakh as compensation, a district court official said Wednesday. |

These boys were detained when they were found at Regipora Kupwara with intention of infiltrating to other side of boarder. The teens were re-united by the police with their families in the presence of media in Baramulla. |
