VHP meet to restart Ram Mandir movement Posted: 08 May 2010 09:41 AM PDT By IANS, New Delhi/Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has convened a meeting of its central managing committee July 12 in Ayodhya to restart the Ram Mandir movement. The outcome of the meeting will "decide the future course of action to pave the way to build a temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram. Almost 60 per cent of the construction material is ready to built a two-storeyed temple," Vinod Bansal, media coordinator of VHP, said Saturday. |

Protest in Baramulla; police open teargas Posted: 08 May 2010 09:27 AM PDT By AIP Bureau, Srinagar: Police open teargas shells and used batons to disperse slogan-shouting villagers protesting the death of a local youth in a gun battle with security forces in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Saturday. The protestors claimed that Ghulam Ahmad Kumar was not a militant and was picked up by security forces prior to the gun battle in the Rafiabad belt yesterday, a charge denied by the police. Six militants and two security personnel were killed in the gun battle yesterday. |

21000 candidates appear at entrance test for AMU medical courses Posted: 08 May 2010 03:06 AM PDT By TCN News, Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University today held its entrance test for the admission to MBBS/BDS at Aligarh, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhopal and Kozhikode. More than twenty one thousand candidates appeared for the entrance test.
