Pakistani cricketer paid a paltry Rs.500 as 'mehr' for his first wife Ayesha Siddiqui but paid a whopping Rs.61 lakh for his second wife Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The 'nikahnama' signed by Shoaib while marrying Ayesha alias Maha Siddiqui in 2002, shows 500 Pakistani rupee as the 'mehr' (the gift given by the bridegroom to the bride at the time of marriage). The former Pakistani skipper paid Rs.61 lakh as 'mehr' to Sania, whom he married here Monday. |

The court had summoned principals of Ahmed's two schools, Mahadev Inter College, Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, and Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika School, Mumbai. |

Splendid performance of Muslim candidates in BPSC exam 2010 Posted: 12 Apr 2010 05:58 AM PDT By TCN News, Patna: Muslim candidates have made a splendid performance in Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) competitive examinations 2010. Of 362 successful candidates 37 are Muslims, that is about 10.22%. This is far greater show by them compared to the last year results where only 4 were Muslims. Total 893 students who succeeded in Main examination had appeared in the interview held from 15 to 23 March. The result was announced yesterday. |

Mohmmad Hussain, a resident of Shahina Bagh in the area, suffered injuries on his face when he opened the parcel, said a police official. Hussain was taken to a hospital where doctors said his condition was stable. "Efforts are on to trace the parcel's source," the officer said. |

"The nikah has been completed. Please pray for the couple," Sania's spokesperson Rucha Naik told media persons outside hotel Taj Krishna. The simple and brief nikah ceremony, held between 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., was attended by about 70 close relatives and friends of the bride and bridegroom. |
End strike, demands will be studied: Kashmir employees told Posted: 12 Apr 2010 04:58 AM PDT By IANS, Srinagar : The demands of striking Jammu and Kashmir government employees will be considered if they end their strike, a senior minister said, as the strike entered the ninth day Monday. "We will consider the demands sympathetically only after the strike is called off," Law and Rural Development Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar told a group of reporters here late Sunday. Sagar, a senior member of the National Conference-Congress government, was until now believed to be a strong advocate of breaking the impasse between the government and the striking employees through talks. |
