Ayesha files police complaint against Shoaib Malik Posted: 04 Apr 2010 09:41 AM PDT By IANS, Hyderabad: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza's wedding plans took a dramatic turn Sunday as Hyderabad resident Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be the first wife of Shoaib Malik, filed a case of cheating against the Pakistani cricketer after he denied marrying her. Ayesha also accused Malik, the former Paksitani skipper, of trying to buy her silence for $1 million, muddying the waters ahead of the April 15 marriage of Sania and Shoaib. |
Congress to try for consensus on women's bill Posted: 04 Apr 2010 05:56 AM PDT By IANS, New Delhi : The Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) said Sunday they will convey their strong opposition to the women's reservation bill at Monday's all-party meeting called by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee even as the ruling Congress maintained it will try its best to forge a consensus on the legislation. "We are opposed to the bill in its present form. We have given some suggestions to the government to modify the bill and one of them should be accepted," SP spokesman Mohan Singh told IANS. |

If one believes the family friends of Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be Shoaib's first wife, Azharuddin and Sangita were staying in the same hotel where the Pakistani cricketer and Ayesha were sharing a room after their 'marriage' in 2002. |
Delhi Govt violates RTE Act, subjects children to admission test Posted: 03 Apr 2010 11:07 AM PDT By TCN News, New Delhi: In a clear violation of the Right to Education Act, 2009, the Delhi Government is subjecting children to screening procedure for admission to Class VI in Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas (government schools) in the academic year 2010-2011. The state government has issued admission notice mentioning the screening procedure. Civil rights group Social Jurist has written a letter to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit urging her to withdraw the notice. |
