The program stressed the introduction of regional languages, science and other subject in the curriculum of madrasas. The Council formed two years ago claims to have support of Imams of Masjids, madrasa teachers and students. The Council has been working with the motive "Imam for Social Change". Other issues discussed at the program were legal awareness and use of media for the community empowerment. |

A stone hit Sheikh on his head and he died later on Friday. As per reports, the unfortunate incident took place at Batamaloo, when a mob, protesting the death sentence given to two Kashmiris in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar blast case, attacked a mini bus and pelted stones. |

Shafiq Ahmad Sheikh, a peon in the secondary school board, was killed after the public transport vehicle he was travelling in was attacked by stone pelters in the Batmaloo locality here. |

The charge-sheet relied heavily on police officers' accounts. There is no independent witness. Shahzad Ahmed @ Pappu, who was picked from his home in Azamgarh this February, has been charged with murder of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma. The weapon, however, has not been traced. |
