PFI holds Muslim reservation program in Goa

Margao (Goa): Popular Front of India's national campaign for Muslim reservation reached Goa yesterday when PFI's state unit organized a get-together program at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao wherein the PFI leaders reiterated their demand for full implementation of Ranganath Mishra Report which has recommended reservation for Muslims and other minorities in the country.

Delhi lawyers to remember Shahid Azmi at a memorial meeting

New Delhi: Eminent Supreme Court lawyers are gathering tomorrow in a memorial meeting in Jamia Millia Islamia to offer condolences to and remember Adv Shahid Azmi, defence lawyer of several terror accused, who was murdered in his Mumbai office on February 11. The meeting is being organized by Jamia Teachers' Solidarity Association.

APCR to build all-India structure of para-legal workers

New Delhi: Given the gravity of the situation whereby Muslims are being implicated most of the time in fictitious criminal cases including ones related to terrorism, the Delhi-based Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) will soon build an all-India structure – from village to district to state capital to Delhi – of civil and human rights activists and para-legal workers who could offer assistance to hapless people ignorant of criminal laws and police procedures.
