New Delhi : The right-wing Hindutva brigade has displayed its fascist colors time and again by indulging in murderous acts of violence, propagating false history, suppressing the religious minorities and oppressing nationalities everywhere.

In universities, its trusted student wing Akhil Bhartiya Viddhyarthi Parishad, (ABVP)carries out the same agenda. This time in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), ABVP tried to indulge in fascist propaganda as well as open hooliganism on the question of state repression in Kashmir.

No shutdown or curfew, normalcy returns to Kashmir Valley

Srinagar : Life returned to normal here Sunday as the separatists asked people to resume routine activities and the authorities decided not to impose curfew or restrictions anywhere in the Kashmir Valley.

"No curfew or restrictions are in place anywhere in the Valley today (Sunday)," a police officer said here.

This is the first time in the last three months that authorities decided not to impose curfew or curfew-like restrictions anywhere in the region after the present unrest started June 11.

19-yr-old Imran sacrificed his life to save two Hindu boys

Siwan: Setting a highest example before communalists in the society, 19-year-old Imran sacrificed his life while saving two Hindu boys in Ranipur village of Siwan district. He drowned but before that he was able to save the boys in the pond near his home.

It was 1.30 pm of a humid after noon at Ranipur on September 1, 2010 when Imran returned to his home from Siwan city after buying clothes and shoes for himself to celebrate Eid, but God had written something else in his destiny.

Kerala teacher loses job after right palm chopped off

Muvattupuzha (Kerala) : Professor T.J. Joseph, whose right palm was chopped off by activists of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and stitched back by doctors, got another shock Saturday when the college he works for here dismissed him from service.

"I was shocked to get the letter. Honestly, I was mentally getting ready to get back to my job as a teacher. I was under the impression that the management would revoke my suspension and take me back. This has come as a real shocker," said Joseph lying on his bed in his home near here.

Hold Kashmir dialogue without preconditions: Karat

New Delhi : Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat Saturday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked him to "take a bold initiative for a political dialogue" without preconditions with the people of Jammu and Kashmir to find a solution to the problems of the state.

He also suggested that many of the paramilitary bunkers in Srinagar should be removed, juvenile prisoners freed and economic activity in Kashmir Valley revived.

Majority in Kashmir not anti-India: Advani

New Delhi : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Saturday said a majority of people in Jammu and Kashmir do not nurture any anti-India sentiments.

Writing in his blog, Advani said surveys conducted by even pro-Pakistan persons have found that most people in the state do not support merger with Pakistan.

"Not many outside the state are aware of the state's diverse demography," Advani said in his lengthy blog on Kashmir.

Kashmir stone-pelters backed by opposition: Advani

New Delhi : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Saturday said the "stone-pelting movement" in Kashmir draws its strength more from the Mehbooba Mufti-led People's Democratic Party (PDP) than from the separatist Hurriyat Conference.

In his latest blog, Advani wrote: "The separatists in Kashmir are led by the Hurriyat Conference. But the ferocious stone-pelting movement these days draws its strength more from the PDP than from the Hurriyat."
