Bihar Cabinet approves allotment of land for AMU campus Posted: 18 Feb 2010 09:38 AM PST By TwoCircles.net Staff Reporter, Patna: Keeping his word to the Aligarh Muslim University delegation earlier this month, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made it that his Cabinet yesterday approved the allotment of 250 acres of land for special campus of AMU in Kishanganj district. Talking to media persons state cabinet secretary Mr. Afzal Amanullah disclosed the cabinet decision. |
Shahzad Ahmad remand extended to 7 days police custody Posted: 18 Feb 2010 09:18 AM PST By TCN News, New Delhi: Shahazad Ahmad, who was picked up from his Azamgarh home on Feb. 1 was remanded to 7 days police custody. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja allowed the Delhi Police Special Cell to keep Shahzad in their custody till February 25. Public Prosecutor Rajiv Mohan asked for 10 days remand to interrogate him about laptop and two mobile phones recovered from Azamgarh. Police believe that Shahzad Ahmad is an "Indian Mujahideen" member. He is being blamed for having a hand in Delhi blasts of 2008. |

The organization, formed in wake of Batla House encounter in 2008, turned political and fielded its candidates in 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
